HISTORY

Workshop of basic sciences:

Workshop of basic sciences: A closeup to engineering applications was formed on May 28, 2021, by professors belonging to the Physicochemical and mathematical analysis research group (Physchemath) of the University of America. The international event is organized with the aim of disseminating research in basic sciences such as Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and its application in different areas.

Colleagues from around the world were invited to the first event, who presented their contributions, discoveries, ideas in research and entrepreneurship in the area of Chemistry. An academic population of 100 met who shared their academic thoughts and contributions to the future of science. We have the presence of:

2nd workshop of basic sciences: a closeup to Engineering applications

In our second version, in October 2021, we sought a disciplinary focus directed towards mathematics, statistics and technology. There we had just over 100 participants, who shared their research advances around the disciplines in question, with application to engineering. We have the presence of:

3rd workshop of basic sciences: a new approach to Engineering applications

In our third version, in November 2022, we contemplate all areas of science, under a face-to-face modality. There we had just over 120 participants, who shared their research advances in basic sciences, integrating researchers from academia and industry. We also have a panel of experts called «Let’s talk about circular economy: oil in Colombia», and a mention was given to the best young researchers at the undergraduate level.

4th workshop of basic sciences: a new approach to Engineering applications

In our fourth version, we will once again have both face-to-face and virtual presentations. Our themes are consolidated in the basic applied sciences, and we are now seeking not only to know the processes and research results of those academics with trajectory, but also of those who work in the industry, or who are either completing their professional training or school.

OBJECTIVES

General objective

Disseminate the results of the research or the current state of the research that is currently being carried out from the basic sciences applied to Engineering, and developed by researchers at a National and International level.

Difundir resultados de investigación o el estado actual de investigaciones que se adelantan actualmente desde las ciencias básicas aplicadas a la Ingeniería, y desarrolladas por investigadores a nivel Nacional e Internacional.

Specific Objectives

Show the relevance of basic sciences and technology in disciplines related to engineering.
Evidenciar la relevancia de las ciencias básicas y la tecnología en disciplinas afines a la ingeniería.
Promote connective networks from the research interests in common between the different participating institutions
Potenciar las redes conectivas desde los intereses de investigación en común entre las diferentes instituciones participantes.
Provide visions and perspectives of the applications of Basic Sciences in Engineering and related areas.
Aportar visiones y perspectivas de las aplicaciones de las Ciencias Básicas en la Ingeniería y en áreas afines.

Event Scope

The IV WORKSHOP OF BASIC SCIENCES: A NEW APPROACH TO ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS, allows researchers, students and other professionals from around the world, to have a space to share their experiences with the use of basic sciences in the generation of knowledge, the innovation of processes and the development of academic products with applications in engineering. For this version, each of the conferences will focus on strengthening and updating knowledge, establishing a global and contemporary vision on the use of basic sciences and the development of innovative solutions to practical problems in different academic disciplines.

Welcome to everyone: scientists, researchers, teachers, students, leaders and the entire community to the 3rd Workshop of basic sciences: A new approach to engineering applications that will be held on November 10 and 11, 2022 at the Ecocampus Los Cerros of the University of America, but will also be transmitted through the social networks of the institution in question. In this event we will have the participation of recognized researchers in the area of basic sciences and its applications, with the aim of sharing their knowledge and scope of research. We are pleased to have you participating in this event that will facilitate the dissemination of basic science applications, and to count on your contribution to technology, business, entrepreneurship, medicine, industry among other areas . The workshop seeks to guide new young researchers and students in science research basic principles and their applications for the improvement of society.
